The result of instrument quality shows good with internal validity value which includes very feasible content validity, proper construct validity and validity of feasible language while false positive and false negative calculation result is 9,72% and 8,68%, correlation coefficient on construct empirical is 0.875 (very strong), reliability with coefficient is 0,911, the level of difficulty question is medium and the differentiation of the question is good. Hasil identifikasi dari 34 siswa, 29 siswa mengalami miskonsepsi dengan persentase miskonsepsi tertinggi 42,86% yang didominasi oleh penyebab konsepsi false negative. Hasil kualitas instrumen menunjukkan baik dengan nilai validitas internal yang meliputi validitas konten sangat layak, validitas konstruk layak, dan validitas bahasa layak sedangkan hasil perhitungan false positive dan false negative adalah 9,72% dan 8,68%, koefisien korelasi pada empiris konstruk 0,875 (sangat kuat), reliabilitas dengan koefisien 0,91, taraf kesukaran soalnya sedang, dan daya beda butir soal tergolong baik. Untuk mengidentifikasi miskonsepsi yang terjadi pada siswa, digunakan instrumen diagnostik three-tier yang sebelumnya telah diketahui kualitasnya.
